Were there 600000 marchers - or 70000?
Only real dispute in peaceful day of protests
THE countrywide mass protest yesterday ended peacefully – with sharply conflicting claims on the turnout.
One union said 600000 workers took part in countrywide marches, while government put the figure at 70000.
Congress of SA Trade Unions spokesperson Patrick Craven said initial reports suggested yesterday’s events had been “excellent”.
Solidarity action from municipal workers and taxi drivers indicated “depth and support” for the public servants, added the Cosatu official.
The Public Service and Administration Department said the mass action had a “minimal impediment” on most service delivery.
“It is estimated that, in all centres across the country, 70000 workers participated in the marches,” said spokesperson Lewis Rabkin.
However, the National Education, Health and… bla bla bla bla …STOP RIGHT HERE FOR FUCK SAKES
Ended peacefully my ass, roads are getting closed down because this fucking platneus’s is throwing rocks at cars on highways ect.
